DPT 517 - Physical Therapy Examination and Intervention in Acute Care
This course presents a foundational approach to various patient evaluation, goal setting, and intervention techniques within the scope of physical therapy practice. Information builds upon information presented in the fall semester in DPT 511/DPT 512 with focus on acute rehabilitation environments. Topics covered include positioning and draping, transfers, assisted ambulation, arterial and venous wounds, the diabetic foot and wound differential and care. Professionalism, verbal and written communication skills, and ethics are considered throughout.
Prerequisite(s): DPT 511 and DPT 512. Corequisite(s): DPT 518.
