MSF 280 - Introduction to Montessori and Social Mission
This course is a general introduction to Dr. Maria Montessori, the history of the Montessori Method, and to the evolution of the theory of Dr. Montessori and her collaborators over the past 100 plus years. The course examines the mission of Montessori philosophy and education in relation to the rights of the child. Students learn about how the enduring global mission strives to bring Montessori principles and practices to families and communities in all social and economic circumstances.
