APC 160 - Chamber Mus Perform 1600-1800
APC 160 - Chamber Music Performance 1600-1800 A survey of early Baroque and classical performance indications for chamber music. 17th and 18th ensemble music is chamber music in one of its purest guises in that all the members in the group are both performers and composers at the same time. In this class students will examine the possibilities for interpretation and improvisation in this style, through lecture, research, and performance. By means of a shared musical language, members oblige each other to act and react to one another's interpretive decisions through the process of performance. Prerequisite(s): Open to Hartt students only.
