DPT 509 - Pathophysiology&Pharmacology I
DPT 509 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology in Physical Therapy I This foundational course provides an integrated approach to understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying human diseases and pharmacological management with a focus on their relevance to physical therapy practice. Students will explore etiology, clinical presentation, and progression of common diseases affecting multiple body systems including structure and function. Students will also consider the pharmacological component emphasizing the principles of drug action, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug classifications relevant to body systems. Prerequisite(s): DPT 500 and DPT 501. Corequisite(s): DPT 540.
