GVB 210 - Urban Politics
GVB 210 - Urban Politics Addresses issues associated with the governance and politics of urban America, from neighborhood to city council and city hall. Readings and course work provide opportunities to learn about the shape and pattern of local government in the United States and why it has evolved as it has. Special attention is given to topics such as why cities develop; machine politics; the relationship between public and private power; the interplay of race, ethnicity, and class in urban governance; and the political and economic fragmentation of American cities.
